“You made a lot of mistakes, a lot. And you will make a lot more in the future” – Anger from Inside Out 2.[/pullquote] This quote is true for all of us and it is so important to remember. Especially for Riley in Inside Out 2. Inside Out 2 is a sequel to the 2015 Pixar movie Inside Out. The original movie takes a look inside the brain of Riley Andersen and features the main 5 emotions, Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust. They live in headquarters in Riley’s brain. But in this sequel Riley grows up and hits puberty. As these new emotions come, headquarters isn’t sure how to feel. These emotions are Anxiety, Ennui, Envy, and Embarrassment. This movie shows the struggles and hard choices teenagers often have to make and how anxiety often takes over. But as we trust ourselves and give ourselves a break we can overcome these challenges. It also features struggles with friends, but doing the right thing in the end.
Aaron Neuwirth says “Comedy-wise, this film has its share of jokes. I have my preferred areas as far as which Pixar toons deliver the humor that makes me laugh more than others. Still, there are some good gags in here, such as a childhood TV show character and a video game reference that felt entirely like a joke designed for me.”
In another movie review, Divya Bisht says “The highly anticipated sequel, ‘Inside Out 2’, has finally arrived, and it does not disappoint. Pixar once again dives deep into the complexities of the human mind, delivering a film that is as thought-provoking as it is entertaining.” Some even say they have never related to a movie more in their life. People agree that it is an amazing sequel and it is perfect for those that watched Inside Out in 2015 but have grown up. This movie hit all the emotions and even made some people cry.
So if you are someone with lots of emotions who likes a movie that can make you cry and laugh, this movie is for you. It has a rating of 4.6 stars, so the majority of people like it. Also, this movie is perfect for all ages, whether you are a mom of 4, a high school student, or a kid, you would love this movie.
Students at West Orange also have responded positively to the movie. “I loved this movie, it was so bittersweet. My favorite part of the movie was how Riley’s emotions got more complex as she grew up. I think this relates to a lot of us in real life,” Freshman WOHS, Eva Mitchell said.
