All over West Orange High School you can see students expressing themselves with the different outfits they were to school, some students like to wear comfortable outfits, some wear athletic clothing, and some students like to dress up and put a nice out together. Overall the students at WOHS like to express themselves in many different ways. Here are the top 5 fashion aesthetics that the students wear.
1.Streewear
Coming in at number one as the first fashion aesthetic is streewar.The streetwear fashion aesthetic consist of wearing oversized jerseys, graphic tees, jorts, sneakers with nice colors or designs, vintage clothes, and really nice jewelry. Streetwear can be worn many different ways. You can dress it up or you can drees it down whatever you feel comfortable with, one student CJ Tripp says, “I like to wear streetwear because it helps me express myself in what I feel comfortable in and it also helps me standout from my friend’s aesthetics.” I’ve been seeing a lot of different students who wear streetwear and I think it so cool to see how everyone styles their outfits because I to wear streetwear and it my favorite aesthetic, here are some examples of students at WOHS wearing streetwear.

2.Earthy Girl Aesthetic
The next fashion aesthetic popular at WOHS is the earthy girl aesthetic which consist of wearing earthy colors like green, brown, and a cream color and a mix of bohemian and minimalist styles. This style is just becoming a bit more popular at west orange in the more recent years and a lot of girls wearing this fashion aesthetic one girl at WOHS named Gabby said, “I love the earthy girl/neo soul aesthetic I feel more down to earth and at peace with this aesthetic and its one of the best fashion aesthetics in my opinion.” I love seeing all the girls wearing this I think its really cool to see how they style this it makes them look so clean and very peaceful, here is an example of a student at West Orange wearing this aesthetic.

3.Skater boy
Coming in at number 3 is the skater boy aesthetic which is the style inspired by the skateboarding culture. This aesthetic consists of wearing loose-fitting clothing, graphic tees, and footwear designed for board control. I have seen this style worn by a lot of the boys at west orange both in school and outside of school, one boy from WOHS named Aaron Morales says, “I think this aesthetic applies to me because one I ride a skateboard and all friends tell me I dress like a skater boy and now that I know its a type of fashion aesthetic I love it even more.” This aesthetics is new to me I saw it was popular on tiktok and I seen so many guys at this school wearing it and I like it, you might think it’s the same as the streetwear aesthetic but they are different because skater boy emphasizes a causal and functional look for skating and streetwear combines elements from hip-hop, punk, and high fashion to make cultural statement, here is a visual example of this type of aesthetic from one of the students here at WOHS.

4.Comfy and Casual
The next fashion aesthetic trending at west orange is comfy and casual which consist of wearing baggy clothes like hoodies, sweatpants, crocs, and sneakers. This aesthetic is worn by a lot of the students here at WOHS. Amelia Zurek says “this fashion aesthetic is so cool because I love dressing comfortable and not feeling like my outfit is doing to much I also love to wear crocs any chance I get with an outfit and it makes me feel so comfy when I wear outfits like this.” This style is very popular at WOHS all throughout the school. You can see a lot of students wearing this aesthetic and personally I think it cool to see how everyone styles this type of aesthetic. I like wearing outfit like this sometime, here is an example of a West Orange student wearing this type of aesthetic.

5.Sporty Aesthetic
The last and final aesthetic popular at west orange is the sports aesthetic all through West Orange you can see a lot of students their sports gear weather they are wearing another players jersey or their jersey from a sport that they play at WOHS, Zoe Calvez says, “I like game days because me and my teammates get a chance to wear our jerseys from basketball or our other gear that we got and love that cause we get to show everybody that we play a sport and we get represent our sport and school not just on the court but during the day at school.” This aesthetic is super popular at West Orange because a lot of the students are in sports and a lot of them have to wear their jerseys or team shirts during the school day and it really cool to see what sport everybody is in cause everybody likes different things, here is an example from a students at WOHS wearing this aesthetic.

In conclusion we all have different fashion aesthetics and styles we like to wear and we all feel comfortable and confident in all the clothes we wear no matter what fashion aesthetic we may be wearing. I love seeing how people express themselves with their outfits because it gives us a chance to see a little bit of their personality through their outfits and we can also tell what kind of stuff they like just based on how they dress for example if someone is wearing an anime shirt you can be able to tell that they like anime or if someone is wearing a sports jersey you can tell they like that certain sport that is on their jersey. No matter what fashion aesthetic you like don’t think your not as cool as other people wearing a different fashion style cause yours is just as cool as theirs and you shouldn’t feel bad that you like to wear this type of clothing it is what makes you feel comfortable and if you feel comfortable in something you should wear it and feel confident in whatever you are wearing.
